Frequently Asked Questions

  • Why US Club Soccer?

The decision for IDL to go toward US Club Soccer instead of state association affiliation with USYSA is because the decision-making and governance go back toward IDL member clubs. All clubs have an opportunity to have a voting member and decision-making ability in how the IDL operates.

Many IDL teams may desire to play in other states. The US Club Soccer route allows for player carding on a National level instead of a state level - this was an essential step for the ease of travel for teams seeking national competition at the elite level.

The IDL encourages participation in regionally and nationally sanctioned US Club Soccer events if a team chooses to do so.
